Three months ago, hip hop up-and-comer Righchus was rushed to the hospital unconscious. He’d passed out, overcome by what was described as a non-life-threatening minor heart condition. Within days the indomitable School of the Arts grad was back on his feet, planning his next autobiographical rap. If he’s smart he’ll ask Movable Type Pictures to shoot the music video. Movable Type — a.k.a. local boys Blake and Taylor Engel — don’t have vast resources, but they had enough talent and ingenuity to shoot two slick videos for Righchus last year. The promos for “Go Hard” and “Ridin’” belied their low budgets, with flowing camerawork, stylized lighting, and a cinematic feel. "Go Hard" in particular gave Righchus a mysterious back story that deserves to be continued. After seeing his character disappear into wisps of smoke at the end of that video, we’re holding our breath for the next episode.
