Celebrities seem drawn to Charleston. There are Hollywood types like Bill Murray and Reese Witherspoon or sports stars like Dan Marino and Eli Manning. Some just visit, but others put down roots in the community. Now, there’s a new breed of celebrity catching the Lowcountry bug: The superstar tech geek. Last year, Twitpic founder Noah Everett moved to town with little mainstream fanfare, but a major buzz among Twitter folks. In January, Everett announced that his picture-sharing site made more than $1.5 million in ad revenue in 2009. And, judging by his Twitter updates, he’s liking the area’s small-city charm. “Walking around in NYC is like being a needle in a stack of needles,“ he wrote late last month.
