At Smoky Oak Taproom, the new barbecue joint out on James Island, they don’t skimp on the portions. The Ribs & Bar-B-Q combo includes a half-rack of smoky ribs and a mound of pulled pork as big as a softball. And, if that’s not enough, you get your choice of two sides, too, like collards or black-eyed peas or hand-cut fries. And the coup de grace is the selection of over a dozen craft beers on tap, including high-gravity beers that pack a wallop like Chimay and Dogfish Head Ale. Pair a big platter of barbecue with a goblet or two of Belgian-style beer, and your couch is calling for a long afternoon nap.
