The concept of Persimmon initially puzzled us. A cafe nestled inside a laundromat? The notion took a little getting used to, but it didn't take us too long to realize how truly innovative and necessary this idea could be. One year later, we're smitten. Tucked beside rows and rows of Whirlpools is one of Charleston's least mundane cafe menus. Owner Rob Cassi keeps it interesting with not-so-traditional ingredients. The Persimmon chalkboard is ever-changing and can be tracked via Facebook. Separating darks and whites is so much less of a nuisance between bites of an adult grilled cheese and sips of basil limeade. We're also shamelessly guilty of abusing the free delivery option.
