When Moe's Crosstown reopened a few months ago, Wagener Terrace residents had Moe's fever. The first few weeks, the line was out the door by 7 p.m., the scheduled start time of their fantastic half-price burger deal ($4 for a massive burger and fries). While most expected the fever to eventually taper off, it's become a full-fledged epidemic. Every week we get there a little earlier, and the line never gets any shorter. Though it's not as cramped as its previous iteration, it is still very tight in there, with the bar always full and competition for tables very nearly cut-throat. But they wouldn't keep coming back and waiting in line if it weren't for the fat burgers — especially the BLT Burger with a fried green tomato and fresh mozzarella, a must-have for any respectable Charleston bar-food-aficionado.
