The plans for 1600 Meeting Street are still in the works, but it's one local venture that we're really hoping will come to fruition — and soon. We first heard of the project when Kate and Lindsay Nevin presented at Pecha Kucha 10, sharing their plans for an iconic, abandoned building on Meeting Street Road. The couple hopes to turn it into an arts destination complete with studio spaces, a theater, and a café. Although they have the space under contract, they're still waiting on the original owners to clean up a mess they left behind. As long as that goes smoothly, the quiet, industrial area of the Neck will have an exciting new neighbor. That's an idea we can definitely get behind.
