Best Potato Latke Served Next To An Altar For A Dead Woman

Sarah Adams’ Aunt Harriet’s Pop-upq

Staff Pick

For a brief moment last fall, Sarah Adams and Nikki Anhalt, plus a lot of other members from their Bad Bitches’ posse, served dinners at Queen Street Grocery. They were fun, they were casual, they were soundtracked with some of the best ’90s hip-hop we’ve heard in some time. The dinner parties were named after Adams’ great grandma Harriet, to whom she built a kind of shrine at the front of the dinner table. But best of all were Adams’ potato latkes. A salty, oniony, fried puck, I’m pretty sure my husband ate 80 percent of the family platter’s worth. Now if only Adams would open her own restaurant so we could enjoy these babies on the regular. —Kinsey Gidick
