Some folks say that print is on the way out and that newspapers are dying. We here at the City Paper disagree. In fact, we've found there's a tremendous appetite for local news. What the people got tired of was reading the syndicated BS that every other paper was running. And here in Charleston we're not the only ones. Take Charlie Morrison. This one-time City Paper staffer bought the James Island Messenger from the folks at West Of. Apparently, he believes that the people of James Island still deserve a local voice and that somebody can make a little money doing it. Flash forward a few months and JIM is still around, and Morrison, as editor and publisher, is focusing on the stories that matter to his readers. Keep it up.
