Brad Cloepfil is a world-renowned architect, and he created a pretty crazy-ass design for the proposed Clemson Architecture Center right here in Charleston. In October, he left his home in Portland, Ore., to come to Charleston to discuss the project before the Board of Architectural Review. After his presentation, the BAR would vote on the project. But then the strangest thing happened. The BAR's members began recusing themselves one by one, much to everyone's surprise. In the end, the BAR was unable to vote on the project because they didn't have a quorum. Today, five months later, they still haven't.
