A few years ago, rock station 98X dedicated a late Sunday evening show to local bands. These days, with Anarchy X, they dedicate the airwaves to old-school and modern punk rock from 8-10 p.m. Hosts Nikki and Molly Mohawk play copious amounts of standards and classics by The Ramones, Richard Hell, Johnny Thunders, The Clash, and The Sex Pistols, as well as West Coast hardcore and underground songs by Black Flag, X, Circle Jerks, and Dead Kennedys. They dabble in more modern reggae, greaser, rockabilly, alternative, local, and revivalist stuff as well — from local band The Defilers to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and back.
