Best (Really) Local Actress

Becca Anderson

Staff Pick

OK, sure, Catherine Bell spent a lot of time in Charleston and North Charleston for the filming of Army Wives, but we’re not actually sure that she owns a house here anymore. And besides, we can’t say we’ve seen her in any local productions to date. In contrast, Becca Anderson has been busting her tail on just about every Charleston stage you can think, including the Dock Street Theatre (9 to 5 and Boeing-Boeing), the Woolfe Street Playhouse (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Threshold Repertory Theatre (Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche), and even a tiny stage at Boone’s Bar (The Debate Over Courtney O’Connell of Columbus, NE). And her hard work paid off: BroadwayWorld S.C. gave Anderson an award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role in 9 to 5.
