It’s no secret that entrepreneurship can be a lonely, scary road. And even though working in your pajamas is often touted as one of the perks of working for yourself, that can get old pretty quickly. Enter Local Works, Lowcountry Local First’s co-working facility on Morrison Drive. It’s an open, beautiful, vibrant space designed to bring local entrepreneurs together, breaking down that sense of isolation that comes from going it alone. So far, Local Workers include a photographer (former CP photog Adam Chandler), a gluten-free chef (Saltwater Chef), an event planning company (Party.Love.Birds), a personal trainer (SKFitLife), and a green roof builder (Green Roof Outfitters), among others. And since the building is located right next to 1600 Meeting, which houses its own extensive roster of Charleston businesses and organizations, you can bet that the local-happy, collaborative energy is going to be through the roof.
