To be honest, we never stepped foot in Ralph Lauren on King Street. It's just not our style (or budget). So when the store closed up shop and Atelier Gallery moved in, we couldn't have been happier. Gabrielle Egan started the gallery in Asheville and decided to open an outpost on the coast, which brought her to Charleston. The space boasts a huge variety of works from local and regional artists like Chris Dotson, Harry Wozniak, Janet Bludau, and Spencer Herr. It's one of the most diverse, interesting groups of artists in town, and it's a lot more fun to look at than polo shirts and khakis.
