Post And Courier Pays It Forward

Staff Pick

When the news is at its worst, journalists have to be at their best. Last June, when Orlando became the scene of the deadliest mass shooting in recent American history, the staff at the Orlando Sentinel found themselves tasked with covering another horrific act of violence. In a show of support, the Post and Courier sent snacks and coffee to the Orlando newsroom along with a heartfelt note, reading, “You all have done an amazing job covering yet another tragedy in our country. The way you have served your community has been truly inspiring. Our newsroom knows all too well the toll an ordeal like this can take. Colleagues from all around the world reached out to us in the aftermath of the Emanuel AME Church shooting in Charleston, and we’d like to pay that forward.” Well done, guys. —Dustin Waters
