Ten years ago if you had suggested grabbing a craft beer at a swank brew pub on upper Morrison Drive, you'd have gotten the stink eye and a resounding, "That sketchy area?" from most locals. No more. Thanks to the Half Mile North development, built to headquarter Charleston's so-called "Silicon Harbor" of tech companies, the new space is giving the neighborhood a fresh look, and buzz. In addition to companies such as Blue Acorn and SIB Development & Consulting, the developers Stephen Zoukis and Michael Woody of Raven Cliff Company hope to lure in more tech businesses. Of course, here at City Paper we've called NoMo home for years and knew it was only a matter of time before the rest of the Holy City took our lead and moved on up here.
