For a long time Sullivan’s Island was getting by on its looks alone. Sure we’d drive out there for the beach, but back in the day, food options were rather limited. Not anymore. Thanks to places like Taco Mamacita’s, Home Team BBQ, and Poe’s Tavern, there’s plenty of casual fare.But when we want to get dolled up and hit the seashore, we head to Chef Jacques Larson’s Obstinate Daughter, a more fish-minded Italian restaurant from the master of Wild Olive. This chill place nails the pastas (get the garganelli), shared plates like the Mepkin Abbey mushrooms, and when you’re craving a sweet bite afterward, just head downstairs for a scoop from OD’s Beardcat gelateria.
