There have been plenty of TV appearances this past year for our local restaurants and chefs. Guy Fieri and Andrew Zimmern stopped by, and Glass Onion, Fuel, and Early Bird Diner got great air time. But our favorite appearance had to be Guerrilla Cuisine on Hairy Bikers. The concept of the show, we admit, sounded totally stupid to us at first, but then we watched the episode and were charmed. The hairy biker guys went gigging for flounder. They were utterly enthralled with the Lowcountry and had an infectious enthusiasm for everything they did. While GC's jimihatt's personality was a bit subdued, we think he played it right, letting the stars of the show shine bright. And when they cooked up the fish they gigged and served it to hungry diners on the docks at Crosby's, we felt pangs of jealousy for missing that one. How fun and delicious it looked.
