When Kung Fu star David Carradine was found naked, tethered, and dead in a Bangkok hotel, he had one last western to be released. Originally titled Longshot, this independent movie was partly filmed in Summerville, S.C., doubling as the Wild West. Longshot was released on DVD in December under the new title of All Hell Broke Loose. Over the past two months it has been the number one western DVD rental in the country. Reviewers highlighted the dependable acting of Carradine and Charleston-based Jim Hilton. Hilton also co-stars in the sequel, Sharpshooter. He was joined by country music singer Billy Joe Royal (“Down in the Boondocks”) on a western town set that was constructed and spectacularly destroyed in Fairfax, S.C. According to director Chris Forbes, the new film will be ready for a screening at Mt. Pleasant Cinebarre by mid-April.
