This excursion will bring attendees into the heart of the brewing process at Sterling Hall at Hyatt House (560 King Street). Over the course of six hours, attendees will explore all aspects of small-batch brewing. They will discuss and examine raw materials; work through the process of creating a batch of beer; discuss the current state of the industry; and, of course, participate in extensive quality assurance. Guest speakers will include beer historian Timmons Pettigrew and certified cicerone Brandon Plyler, resident beer educator for Edmund’s Oast and The Charleston Beer Exchange. Bohemian Bull Tavern & Beer Garden will serve lunch.
