Big John Bates Grindshow

When: Tue., March 22 2011

With a bit of horror-show burlesque, gothic theatrics, and naughty-minded rock ’n’ roll, the Vancouver, Canada-based Big John Bates Grindshow is a musical sideshow powered by loud guitars and beautiful women. Co-bandleader Big John Bates, a Gretsch-endorsed singer/guitarist, shares the stage with bassist/singer Brandy “Bones” Anderson and percussionist Orian Case. Calamity Kate and Lincoln Electra lead the additional team of seductresses who “wield switchblades, grinders, and anything else that comes to hand.” The band’s latest is titled Battered Bones. Expect a set of rustic goth-punk and raucous blues paired with a frightening and dynamic burlesque presentation.
