The S.C. Film Commission is offering a workshop to educate South Carolinians on the cinematic importance of extras and the skills to become effective “background” actors. Leading this workshop since 2003, actress and producer Gale Nemec will demonstrate proper conduct through a mock film scene, where participants will be filmed and critiqued.
“It’s important to have a talented pool of extras in the area that know the rules and expectations on set to encourage big production companies to come back,” notes workshop coordinator Stephanie Stockton. “Extras that already have insight into the professionalism involved can also further their own networking opportunities.”
The event will take place at Trident Technical College Sept. 15 from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. South Carolina residents of all ages and experience levels are invited to this free event, though registration is required. For more information or to register, contact Stephanie Stockton at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (843) 296-1486.
