Books for Beer!

When: Tue., April 12, 5:30-8 p.m. 2016

Books for Beer is a book drive in partnership with Friends of the Library, where participants can bring in any new or gently used book in exchange for a SweetWater 420 pale ale. Talk about a sweet deal. Kiddos can even bring in their own children’s book in exchange for a root beer. Though you are limited to one free beer, you are encouraged to bring as many books as you can. There is no specific goal, the Friends would like to see “a massive pile of hundreds of books donated.” And you don’t just have to give books away — there will be books for sale, along with silent auction items for guests to bid on. Keep the fun going with Biergarten’s Tuesday trivia, starting at 8:30 p.m. — they promise to include a books category in this week’s edition, too. The Charleston Friends of the Library is a nonprofit that supports and advocates for the Charleston County Public Library system, raising money to fund more than 6,000 programs annually. Biergarten hopes to team up with the library again soon to support them either financially or load their shelves with more books.
