Brew Ha Ha

When: Sun., Aug. 28, 6 p.m. 2011

We’re a little biased in favor of the Village Tavern’s Brew Ha Ha. For one, it features a beer tasting hosted by our very own T. Ballard Lesemann, and he can definitely tell you a thing or two about beer. It’s why we let him write a regular column on it. And we love stand-up comedy, especially when it’s coming from locals like Dusty Slay, Jason Groce, Greg “Big Daddy” Patterson, Dave Ugly, Timmy Glisson, and Mark Szlachetka. We love it even more when we’ve had some suds to grease our funny bones. So really, there’s no way you can go wrong with this event. The beer tasting starts at 6:30 p.m. Beers include Holy City Pilsner, Sweetwater Motorboat, Abita Amber, Thomas Creek Red Ale, Terrapin Hopsecutioner IPA, Duck Rabbit Milk Stout, Highland Oatmeal Porter, and RJ Rockers Bellringer. The comedy begins at 7:30 p.m., so there’s ample time to get your buzz on. For $10 more, you can also get dinner, though you’ve got to purchase it in advance.
