Brooklyn Brewing Beer Dinner

Brooklyn Brewery co-founder Steve Hindy will be on hand for a four-course dinner prepared by Chef Matt Brigham. Brooklyn Brewing’s crisp Summer Ale (4.5 a.b.v) will welcome attendees at the 7 p.m. reception. Brigham’s four-course menu kicks off with a John’s Island arugula salad with jicama and onion paired with the Brooklyn Local 1. Course two pairs a maple duck confit and grits with the darker, maltier Brooklyn Local 2. Both Local 1 and Local 2 are refermented in bottles. Bacon-wrapped flounder stuffed with spinach and sun-dried tomato accompanies the hybrid wheat beer Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse, a hoppier rendition of a traditional Bavarian weissebier brewed in collaboration with the G. Schneider & Sohn brewery near Munich. The robust Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout concludes the dinner with a caramelized fruit Chocolate Stout crumb ’n’ cream. —T. Ballard Lesemann
