Burden Creek Dairy

Kipp and Katherine Valentine got their first couple of goats as a wedding gift, and for the last 10 years they’ve been producing fresh goat cheese and milk. Goats are milked twice a day, every day. Recently they upgraded their dairy with a large chilling tank and cheese room that allows them to expand production, which means lots of chevre flavored with seasonal herbs. You can find their products at local fine dining restaurants and for sale at Harris Teeter and Newton Farms, the Charleston Farmers Market, Stono Market, and Boone Hall Farms. Kipp also encourages people to make an appointment and come tour the farm. A trip out can net you fresh milk, cheese, and even a baby goat. “Goats are for sale seasonally,” Kipp says, “ Hell, I’ll sell the farm, the land, and the wife! Dog is negotiable.”
