When: Sat., July 9, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. 2016
In this seemingly endless summer, surfing is one of the best ways to beat the heat. Haven’t quite caught this cultural wave? Then head over to The Windjammer for the Carolina Coast Surf Club Exposition this Saturday. The event will feature surfboard appraisal, surf art, surf board care and repair, a sign-up for lessons, raffles, door prizes, and more. The Carolina Coast Surf Club has been around since 1963, when it was just a few kids sharing a surfboard on IOP. The club will also be exhibiting some vintage surfboards to satisfy anyone’s nostalgia for a bygone era of surfing when tall boards and fast guitars dominated surfing culture. It’s a reminder of surfing’s history and a chance to commune with surfers who remember when the sport was still getting started as well as chance to start yourself.
