The College of Charleston recently announced that their featured artist Aldwyth is making an addition to the exhibit Work v./Work n. The site-specific, mixed-media installation, titled "You are always on my mind (unattributed)", will be completed on Dec. 16. It "will serve as another visual vehicle for Aldwyth to discuss her views of art world," according to Halsey reps. The installation is made possible by a grant from the Harpo Foundation in Los Angeles.

In other Halsey news, the $27.2 million Marion and Wayland H. Cato, Jr. Center will officially open in January. Over the college's winter break, three departments will move into the 70,000-square-foot building, including the music department (with performance space, practice rooms, and faculty office space) and the theater department (with movement, dance, and lighting studios). There will also be painting studios and a photography suite. The public is invited to the grand opening celebration on Jan. 9 from 1-4 p.m. Guests can explore all five floors of the building while enjoying snacks and presentations of music, theater, dance, and other events. The event also marks the final day of the Aldwyth exhibition, and the artist will give a lecture at 2 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Simons Center for the Arts.
