Charleston Animal Society waives adoption fees now through Sunday

Adopt don't shop

You always hear that the true spirit of Christmas is about giving, not receiving. Well this year, you can get a gift that gives back too. Head over to Charleston Animal Society until Dec. 17 for their free adoption event, and save a life while making yours even better (and save up to $250 on adoption fees!)

This means that you’re getting all shots, a spay or neuter, microchip and registration, a complimentary veterinary exam (at a list of participating veterinarians), deworming, a bag of Science Diet food, heartworm testing (for dogs six months or older), heartworm and flea prevention — all for absolutely free.

Not only can you adopt for free, but the Charleston Animal Society is also hosting a free spay and neuter clinic on Dec. 15 and Dec. 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both days if a furry friend you already have needs the procedure done.

If you want a little preview at doggos looking for their forever home, check out some current adoptable pups here.

And remember, pets may be free at first, but they are always a significant economic investment — if you adopt, be sure that you can afford the time and money needed to properly care for your new four-legged friend.
