(90 min.)

The Buzz:

WHAT IS IT? An evening of local vocalists from Charleston Chamber Opera performing assorted female arias from three great operas.

WHY SEE IT? The primary passions of grand opera are usually driven by women, and you’ll definitely get the divas’ perspectives here in excerpts from Bizet’s Carmen, plus Puccini’s Madame Butterfly and Suor Angelica. Soprano Patrice Tiedemann and mezzo Lara Wilson will do vocal honors.

WHO SHOULD GO? Any opera fan should enjoy these choice tidbits, and it may be a good way to introduce the younger set to the world of opera without making them sit still for three hours. (Lindsay Koob)

Price: $20, $15/students, seniors
