Charleston Firefighter Hockey Team

When: Sat., March 12, 6 p.m. 2011

The Charleston Firefighter Hockey Team has a great opportunity for you to get your sports fix while helping out the community. Proceeds from the team’s upcoming game against the Boston Fire Department will benefit the Charleston team and help our heroes out at the Local 61 Firefighters Association. During the game, the Ice Palace will have beer and liquor specials for anyone hoping to throw back a few and really get rowdy. But the drinking doesn’t have to start in North Charleston. O’Malley’s is hosting a pre-game party Sat. March 12 at 1 p.m. For a mere $15, you’ve got all you can eat and drink domestic beers and a free ride to the game and back. Jimmy Evans, the firefighter who helped assemble the team, is excited for the local support. “It’s a great deal, and they’re definitely helping us out,” he says. Evans and his team members are excited for a competitive game and hope to get a supportive crowd. “I highly doubt anyone will have a bad time. You’ll definitely want to come back,” Evans says.
