We shouldn’t be admitting this, but we kinda love jazz hands. Sometimes we just like to break them out as we sing-along to songs — and not just Broadway ones. Kesha’s “Timber” is an awesome jazz hands song. Luckily for us, Brad and Jennifer Moranz, Broadway performers and producers of the long running Charleston Christmas Special, are bringing Charlestonians another chance to fully embrace their happy fingers with The Charleston Variety Show. The musical medley will include songs from Broadway’s Hairspray and Pippin along with popular rock ‘n’ roll, country, pop, and Motown hits, plus a couple of Beatles tunes. And the Moranzs haven’t neglected the children either. They’ll keep the youngsters entertained with Disney songs from Frozen, Hercules, and Aladdin. “The biggest feature for this show is that so much of it is new. They’ve been working on a lot of stuff people haven’t seen before,” says Holly Fisher of HAF Creative. The husband-and-wife team have crafted 25 new renditions for their show — which just means our hands have 25 more reasons to be happy.
