Remember all the buzz over Charleston being named the best city in America? Well, it turns out we're No. 3 worldwide.

According to cnngo.com, the same Condé Nast Traveler readers' poll that put Charleston at the top of the heap domestically has ranked the Holy City third on the planet behind Florence, Italy (No. 2), and Sydney, Australia (No. 1). Readers scored the cities on a scale of 100 in the categories of ambience, friendliness, lodging, restaurants, culture, sightseeing and shopping.

Now if we could just get some Renaissance art and a killer opera house, we'd really be in business.
