Chucktown Gets Down

When: Fri., Aug. 29, 7 p.m. 2014

Do a little dance and show a little love at Chucktown Gets Down. The event will feature local artists and musicians highlighting their talents and selling products at the Music Farm for a night of artsy fun. “The idea behind the event is to give local bands and artists who may be smaller the opportunity to come out and get a chance to play on the big stage and get exposure,” says Music Farm’s Adam Helms. “Charleston’s eclectic mix of culture and art makes it a home for many different artists, and we wanted to create an event where we bring a lot of those different artists together, give them the spotlight, and show the people of Charleston how Chucktown gets down.” Grunge-pop group Hub Cap Annie will headline the concert, with alternative country players Carina Point and rockers Superflow, Ashton Stanley, and Big Yen opening. Flowercrowns will make custom headbands. Savannah Bee Co. will set up a honey tasting. And Ava Rocco will sell her paintings that incorporate music and lyrics. Roti Rolls will be serving eats.
