Circa Survive w/ Dredg, Codeseven, Animals as Leaders

When: Wed., Oct. 20 2010

Survivors of the Emo era, Circa Survive have maintained a solid fan base and recently put out a successful record. Their latest release, Blue Sky Noise, reached #11 on the Billboard Top 200, the highest debut of all their albums. While it is less edgy and more accessible than their previous two releases, it still retains the “you broke my heart and I’m really upset” qualities typical of the all-but-lost genre of emo-rock. It’s clear they are striving for a contemporary sound and their recent signing to Atlantic proves the group wants to move in a mainstream direction. The band features energetic frontman Anthony Green, rhythm guitarist Colin Frangicetto, guitarist Brendan Ekstrom, bassist Nick Beard, and drummer Steve Clifford. Circa Survive is going on their first major headlining tour this fall. Also on the Music Farm bill is Los Gatos, Calif., natives Dredg. Vocalist Gavin Hayes, guitarist Mark Engles, bassist Drew Roulette, and drummer/keyboardist Dino Campanella have been together and making alternative rock since the early ’90s. They have an album coming out early in 2011. Codeseven and Animals as Leaders open. —Dustin J. Pitts
