Closings and cancellations in Charleston due to Hurricane Dorian

Like clockwork, it's time for our semi-annual hurricane-related closings and cancellations post. Governor McMaster has issued an evacuation of the Lowcountry, so if you aren't sure about an event or an organization, be sure to head to their websites or give them a call.

Most area schools are closed until further notice, including all Charleston County, Dorchester County, and Berkeley County schools.

Area colleges and universities are closing until further notice as well, including the College of Charleston, Trident Technical College, The Citadel, Charleston Southern, and MUSC.



All Charleston County parks and facilities are closed until further notice.

Charleston County Public Library branches are closed until Thurs. Sept. 5.

Middleton Place is closing until further notice.

Drayton Hall is closed until further notice.

The Children's Museum of the Lowcountry is closed until further notice.

All National Park Service sites in the Charleston area are closed until further notice.

The RiverDogs have cancelled their season finale, originally scheduled for Mon. Sept. 2.

The Charleston Art Gallery Association has postponed the Art Walk until Fri. Sept. 13.

Redux Contemporary Art Center is closed until further notice.

Charleston Stage's Thurs. Sept. 5 performance of Footloose has been cancelled.

The Thurs. Sept. 5 reception at the North Charleston City Gallery has been postponed until Thurs. Sept. 26.

Fetter Health Care locations are closed beginning Wed. Sept. 4 until further notice.

Patton Oswalt's performance at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center, originally scheduled for Thurs. Sept. 5, has been postponed.

The town of Mount Pleasant is closed until further notice, including administrative offices, municipal court, farmers market, and recreational activities. For more info, view the calendar at tompsc.com

Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum is closed as of Tues., Sept. 2 until the storm passes.

East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) will be closed with the hopes to re-open on Mon. Sept. 9. in order to assist with any hurricane-related needs.

Preacher Lawson at the Music Hall, originally scheduled for this Fri. Sept. 6, has been postponed.

Delaney Oyster House's grand opening Thurs. Sept. 5 has been postponed. Follow them on social media for updates on the new date.

The AFFA Pride Family picnic, originally scheduled for Sun. Sept. 8, has been postponed, with a new date, TBD.
