This week holds the annual Colour of Music: Black Classical Musicians Festival, held in various locations around town. We love the fest because it’s a chance for Charleston to hear incredible music from musicians who may not normally have a platform to perform. From vocal recitals at the Murray Center Salon (a.k.a. the Spoleto building) to chamber music at Memminger, this festival highlights renowned artists from all over the globe. We’re especially looking forward to the women virtuosi chamber orchestra, held on Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. at Memminger. Tickets start at $32 for guests to hear an all female chamber orchestra featuring director and soloist Anyango Yarbo-Davenport.
