Strap on your fake beards and fat suits. It’s not some weird role-playing scenario — ’tis the season for Santa Claus costumes. And Warehouse is hosting a holiday soiree to benefit Wings for Kids. One male and one female will win a $100 Warehouse gift card for the best Santa, elf, or Mrs. Claus costume. The Key of Q will perform jazzy hip-hop funk from 7-10 p.m., and the bar and kitchen staff have prepared some tasty holiday treats for the occasion. From 7 -9 p.m., there will be a rep from High West Distillery in Park City, Utah offering samples of four or five different whiskeys. James Groetzinger, Warehouse co-owner, tells us the bar will offer some specialty cocktails, including spiked eggnog and a hot toddy with warm cider. Coast Brewing Company is doing a tap takeover for the night, and some of their limited-release seasonal beers will be available. Freeloaders rejoice, because the event also involves a small amount of free food: “Light hor d’oeuvres and snacks, compliments of the kitchen team, with some holiday flair,” Groetzinger says. There’s no cover charge, but guests are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy for kids aged five-12 involved with Wings for Kids. Wings for Kids creates after school programs to help children learn life skills like responsible decision-making, self-management, and relationship skills. $1 from each of the specialty cocktails sold will go to the charity as well.
