Edgar Allan Poe Lecture with Curtis Worthington

Dr. Curtis Worthington (Charleston's Literary Heritage) will discuss Edgar Allan Poe's time in the Holy City. While stationed at Fort Moultrie in the 1820s, Poe's exposure to the Lowcountry left its mark on the gothic master and this lecture will explore how Charleston influenced such Poe works as "The Balloon Hoax," "The Gold Bug," and "Annabelle Lee."
