Extended Hill

When: Thu., Aug. 19 2010

Singer/guitarist Justin Sulek, a N.C. native and co-founder of Memphis roots band Delta Highway, brings his bluesy new jam band to town this week. The lineup includes singer/guitarist Micah McCravey, bassist Josh Coe, and drummer Tony Cullins — all of whom play from colorful and varied musical backgrounds. “We are a traditional Hill Country outfit with taste of Delta and Chicago blues as well,” Sulek says in a press release. “We decided to take these influences and use them towards making a traditional sound with a fire under its ass.” The band performs a two-night stint in the area, with a gig on Sullivan’s Island on Thurs. Aug. 18 and one in West Ashley on Fri. Aug. 19. —T. Ballard Lesemann
