When: Fri., Oct. 21, 7-11 p.m. 2011
Fall is in the air. You know what that smells like? Oysters. Yep. And while some people may find that scent unpleasant (this writer in particular), others find it absolutely delectable. It’s the season of the oyster roast, and Ducks Unlimited hosts their big annual one on Friday, the Fall SEWE Soiree. When I went last year, I was able to bypass the bivalves for the all-you-can-eat barbecue, and drinks will be provided as well. When you’re not too busy shucking, check out the more than 150 items up for grabs in the silent auction or dance to the tunes of Palmetto Soul. This year’s SEWE poster artist, Dustin Van Wechel, will be at the event. The night should get you amped up for the 2012 Southeaster Wildlife Exposition, which takes place Feb. 17-19.
