Charleston Fashion Week is strutting off the cat walk and into the streets. On Thurs. March 17, from 6-8 p.m., Tanya Sheikh and Ivan Gilke, creators of New York City’s indie design company, In Support Of, will host a pop-up shop at the Mitchell Hill Gallery, featuring cocktails and small bites. On Sat. March 19 at RTW Limited, fashionistas can meet the founder of the mother-of-all fashion meccas, New York Fashion Week’s Fern Mallis. She will be signing copies of her book Fashion Lives: Fashion Icons with Fern Mallis, which features interviews with designers like Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, and Donna Karen. Shoppers can also head to King Street and pop into Finicky Filly’s Trunk Show Fri. through Sun. to find pieces and brands you can’t see anywhere else from labels like Taxidermy and Fabiana Filippi. Round out your week at The Grand Bohemian Gallery on Sat. from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. where you can meet artist Daniel Velasco, whose fashion illustrations are on display.
