Final Friday Art Show Cookout Extravaganza

When: Fri., June 29, 6-9 p.m. 2012

Artisan Tees was out to set a trend on Spring Street with their art, music, dance, and cookout extravaganza on the final Fridays of each month — and now Continuum Surf Shop and Rogue Wave Surf Shop are opening their doors for Final Friday as well. Artisan Tees owner Andy Natusch wanted to make an art event that was friendlier to those young and less flush with cash than the big spenders on the monthly art walk (not that you can’t attend both). This is for people who don’t normally buy art, says Natusch, and if they want to, everything will be $50 or less. There will be free hot dogs, beer, and wine while supplies last too. “We want to make Spring Street a place for art and music every last Friday,” Natusch says. Sole Symphony will be providing electronic music and the Coalesce Dance Company will have their first performance in Charleston later that night. Photographer Adam Chandler will have his work for sale and Art Institute of Charleston student Christopher Hudson will have his pieces up for the first time. “We like to give artists a chance to have their first show with a more well-known artist,” Natusch says.
