“Palooza” takes every party to the next level. Who wants to share a few laughs with friends when you can have a gigglepalooza? It’s also appropriate for this big fundraising bash hosted on Folly Beach, Follypalooza. “Folly Beach has always been a very tight-knit community, and cancer is something that is penetrating our community of loved ones more and more,” says organizer Kelly Rush. “So the foundation of Follypalooza was to create a family-friendly event that would not only bring people to Folly, but also support local residents in need.” Over the past four years, the event has raised almost $20,000 to alleviate the financial stress of 17 individuals’ medical bills. You’ll find carnival games, food and art vendors, and even some bungee jousting, which sounds unbelievably fun. There will be a silent auction too. The town will open up Center Street between Ashley and Huron Avenues as well as loosen those open container laws. Entry is free, but tickets for activities can be purchased throughout the day.
