Since you're probably going to be spending most of your money on margaritas this week, you might as well save on the other days at these free events:
MONDAY. Though not confined to this day only, the North Charleston Arts Festival offers plenty of free events. MUSC’s Brain Tumor Awareness Week also begins today, with a variety of lectures and other activities.
TUESDAY. Joel T. Hamilton performs at the Tattooed Moose.
WEDNESDAY. Break out that Wookie costume for the Star Wars Day Party at Jimbo’s Rock Lounge. Palmetto Moon is offering a Mid-Morning Escape. And they may rhyme, but the flick Goemon is much cooler than Pokemon, but maybe not as cool as Rashomon.
THURSDAY. Keep an ear out for free Cinco de Mayo bashes, like the one at the Tattooed Moose. Though you may not have to pay for entry, you will have to pay for margaritas. Lots of margaritas. And maybe some chips and salsa too.
FRIDAY. Get your shop on at Fresh: A Pop-Up Gallery and Boutique, which features stuff from artist Sarah Boyts Yoder, Candy Shop Vintage, ReTulled Tutus, Clewis Reid, Elizabeth Newman Interior Design, and Lori Wyatt Vintage. Then enjoy the Art Walk for Animals before you head over to the Movies in Marion Square screening of Sherlock Holmes.
SATURDAY. Indulge in a canine extravaganza at the Charleston Dog Show. It’s free to gush at the puppies, but it’ll cost you if you want to enter your own pooch in the contest.
SUNDAY. Enjoy the Second Sunday on King Street.
