The start of Spoleto and Piccolo this weekend means the start of plenty of free events, which you can find here. As for the rest of the week, there's a lot of other stuff going on.

TUESDAY. Hailing from Alabama, The Banditos play at the Tattooed Moose for Craft Beer Tuesdays. Forest Tourist, a “trash pop” band, will be at the Recovery Room.

WEDNESDAY. For all you NPR fans, The Charleston Tell is an adult story-telling event like This American Life. It's first show has the theme “beginners luck.” Seeking Indigo hosts a Local Designer Showcase, with 20 designers, organic snacks, tours of their secret spa in the back, and some free spa services.

THURSDAY. Add to your autograph collection at Blue Bicycle Books at Wiley Cash's book signing. Solo-singer-songwriter Chris Sullivan will be in Summerville. Or stay downtown to sample Beer & Cupcake Pairings (yes, it's true) at cupcake. Yummy.

FRIDAY. Bookworms can head back to Blue Bicycle for a signing with Alethea Kontis. Catch the jazzy Joe Clarke Trio in Mt. Pleasant that evening. And don’t miss the Spoleto Festival USA Opening Ceremony.

SATURDAY. Catch Conversations with Motoi Yamomoto at the College of Charleston. The Children’s Festival: “Once Upon a Time…” will have music, dance, and children’s literacy in Marion Square. And Almost Steve will be playing classic rock on East Bay Street.

SUNDAY. PIccolo Spoleto will host Youth Music Festival: Northside Young Singers and the Remington Concert Series: Opening Event Brass Ensemble. Participators in Sunday-Funday can head to O-Ku that night for a White Party.
