Theatre 99 loves Charleston, and to show their appreciation for the audiences that have filled their seats for years, they’re launching a fundraising series, Give ’Em a Hand, starting this Thursday. 100 percent of ticket sale proceeds will go to a local charity, and this month’s recipient is One80 Place, a nonprofit that provides food, shelter, and care, for homeless women and their families. The evening will feature improv performances from Brandy Sullivan and Greg Tavares a.k.a. The Have Notes, Jason Cooper, Betsy Harper, Jessica Mickey, and more. Tim Hoeckel and Jason Groce will perform both improv and stand-up, and Nameless Numberhead will grace the crowd with a sketch comedy routine. Theatre 99 plans on holding fundraising shows once a quarter, and with over 50 Theatre 99 company members, audiences can expect shows to mix it up every time.
