When: Thu., Dec. 13, 6-8 p.m. and Fri., Dec. 14, 6-8 p.m. 2012
Middleton Place doesn’t need a flux capacitor to take you back in time. At the plantation’s Grand Illumination, you’ll step into the year 1782 for what was probably one of the jolliest Christmases on record. The Revolutionary War was drawing to an end, the Redcoats were evacuating, and colonial patriots everywhere were celebrating the advent of independence. You’ll be joining costumed historians and trained actors, who will bring you to the homecoming Christmas party for Arthur Middleton as he returns from Philadelphia. Learn of his travels and the good news he brings during tours and historical reenactments throughout the plantation. Afterwards, huddle up next to the fire and enjoy a Christmas buffet prepared by the Middleton Place Restaurant. Reservations are suggested.
Price: $45/adults, $20/children, $35/foundation volunteers
