Halloween Pedestrian Parade and Fair

When: Sat., Oct. 30, 6-9 p.m. 2010

When you were a kid, one of the worst parts about Halloween was keeping patient through the entire sunshine-filled day until it was dark enough to start your candy collection. It was always tough. For adults, we’ve got kind of the same pain; we also have to wait for nightfall before we can start our grown-up partying, which involves more of a liquid type of candy. A good way to spend some time on Halloween this year is at the Pedestrian Parade and Fair hosted by the Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood. All the area business are getting involved, from Dell’z Deli to Fuzzco to mac & murphy. At 6 p.m., they’ll kick things off with a strolling parade from the Midtown development (St. Philip Street and Brewster Court) to Elliotborough Park (134 Line St.). There you’ll find the fair, complete with a pumpkin recipe bake sale and contest, food booths, games for kids and adults, and, of course, a costume contest. —Susan Cohen
