When: Fri., June 1, Sat., June 2 and Sun., June 3 2012
Florida-based rock band Sister Hazel’s annual Hazelnut Hang returns to the Windjammer for the seventh time, and this year the group plans to groove the whole time during a weekend’s worth of ’70s-theme parties, games, and jam sessions. Since forming in Gainesville, Fla., Sister Hazel has released 12 albums during their career, but somehow they make their way back to Charleston every year for a long weekend to celebrate with their die-hard fans (a.k.a. “Hazelnuts”). They’ll perform on Fri. June 1 and Sat. June 2 with shows starting at 9 p.m. On Sun. June 3, they’ll play an acoustic set on the main stage at noon. Additionally, fans get several opportunities to hang with band at a “disco soundcheck party” on Friday night, a sand castle building contest and afternoon barbecue on Saturday, and a question-and-answer session on Sunday. A “Hang 7” package costs $179.99 and includes admittance to every event during the weekend.
