We will openly admit that we occasionally find ourselves strutting down King Street, suddenly transformed into runway models in the heart of Paris Fashion Week. If you’re like us, then you might consider attending an actual fashion show hosted by HEART, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that boasts a healthy and creative day program for adults with special needs. The show may be free to attend, but be sure to leave a donation that goes toward HEART scholarships. Founder of HEART, Farrah Hoffmire says, “Adults with special needs are just like the rest of us in that they want to feel like they belong in their community and be able to share their gifts and talents. At HEART, participants are supported by staff and volunteers to produce a creative event and invite their community to come out and enjoy themselves.” D’allesandro’s will be donating pizza for all guests, and HEART will be providing free Izzy sodas — so come hungry and leave inspired.
